Need vascular eval: This could be lymphedema however a missed venous problem (iliac vein) is also a possibility. Infection unlikely without fever or pain, arterial problem unlikely with swelling and fluid overload not likely if it is only one leg. Not often but can be: Osteotomies around the knee change the alignment of the limb to unload diseased portions of the knee joint. Changing the alignment at the knee changes the loading of the hip too. If a portion of the hip joint cartilage is now overloaded, that is one way you could have hip pain.
