If he/she does not find anything ( ear infection, strep throat) to treat be sure to have them look in your mouth. See your dentist. Pharyngitis: Sounds like pharyngitis, which can be bacterial but is usually caused by viruses like those that cause the common cold. Since the ears, nose & throat are connected, you can also have an ear infection. Most viruses don't have good treatments Xcpt time (7-14 day). Earache: You either have wax in the ear of fluid in the middle ear. Sore throat could be a strep infection. The tonsils will have pustules on them or pus. The whitish tongue does not indicate much. You can calm your family doc and ask for an antibiotic if you can not get in to see him or her. Good luck. ...Read more

You : You could try warm packs, advil or tylenol, (acetaminophen) and drinking plenty of fluids to see if it resolves. If it doesn't, or if you have fever or redness, then you would have to be re-evaluated.
