Pain In Corner Of Left Eye
Hi, it's been few days that I get a sharp needle like pain at the inside corner of my left eye, when I look/roll my eye at right side.?
Pain in the inner corner of my left eye. Build up when I wake up in the morning and have to clean my eye with a cotton bud. Pain when I blink.
Possible sty: The pain on the corner of the eyelid exacerbated with blinking and morning increased mucous buildup sounds like a sty. I recommend starting moderately hot wet compresses 2-4 times daily for 10' followed by gentle massage. B careful not to burn yourself. This should help drain the backed up oil gland and relieve the pain. If not better, see an eye md. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My 4month dd has fatty tissue on outer corner of left eye. Will this go away with age or should I consult more. Dd looks and follow things properly?
Two choices: This is either an anteriorly placed fat pad or a dermoid. The former is benign although it might be unsightly and could be removed at some later date. Dermoids are local growths of skin related tissues including fat which can grow, get inflamed and sometimes interfere with function. Have a pediatric ophthalmologist look at your 4 month old. ...Read more

I've been having darkness/flashing in lower outside corner of left eye for a month. Normal retinal exam. Optometrist today told me it was because my eyes were very dry and inflamed. Possible?
More likely PVD: Flashing in the peripheral (outside part) of vision is not likely due to dry eyes. I would be concerned about retinal and vitreous changes, specifically an evolving posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) although you are quite young for this. That is the most common reason for flashes, and often a prominent floater results. I would seek consultation from an ophthalmologist (md) if it persists. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Have an exam: An injury in this area should be examined by an ophthalmologist to rule out any serious insult to the eyeball and eyelids. The cheekbone is fairly thick and would take a big blow to fracture it but an exam would be important just in case. Any change in vision, double vision, eyelid swelling, numbness would also be concerning symptoms. ...Read more
Saw rotating "barber's pole" black & white pattern out of corner of left eye for 2 secs. Another ocular migraine? Looked to that side, it was gone.
Maybe: Your typical visual hallucinations from acephalic migrains usually last 10 to 15 minutes. However, not everyone has textbook symptoms. Vitreous pulling on the retina could cause visual symptoms as well, which uncommonly can lead to retinal detachment. I would get a full dilated eye exam. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Need exam to tell: No way to know without a thorough eye exam. Possible causes include infections, inflammation in the eye or eye muscles, eyestrain, sinus inflammation, optic neuritis, among others. Start with a thorough eye exam by an ophthalmologist, then consider sinus x-rays, ent, or neurology consultation if the eye exam does not reveal a cause for the pain. ...Read more

Visual field deficit: There certainly is no way to tell from here, but if you have a new visual field defect (scotoma?) then you need to see an optometrist (eye checks/glasses) or an ophthalmologist (an eye md/surgeon) and get a full evaluation. It could be the cornea, the lens, the retina, the nerve...Etc., and some things are more serious and need attention more urgently. ...Read more
