Nerve root: Selective irritation of the nerve root at L4/L5. Google "dermatomes", and you can see the nerve distribution for the lumbar nerves. There is probably some post-surgical swelling and inflammation at the site of the surgery which is causing this. Hopefully, it will get better over time. I've been suffering feom calf pain for about1 year.  Had several dopplers done which ruled out dvt.  Still have calf pain, tingling toes.  What is it?

Nerve pain: This sounds like nerve pain, especially with the tingling toes. The most common cause would be radiating symptoms from nerve irritation/compression in the lumbar spine. A nerve conduction study and a MRI of the lumbar spine would be a good start if you haven't already had these.
