Chronic pelvic pain: Can be difficult. I assume a source of tissue damage or problem has been ruled out. If so, there could be a psychiatric contributor. It's not all in your head but all pain is registered in the head and if there is a mood or stress problem the meds need to be geared to help pain. Yes: I'm assuming someone performed an ultrasound and told you, you have a cyst that will or has ruptured? Sharp pelvic pain can definitely be associated with ruptured cysts. If you haven' had an ultrasound, that would be something to consider. A week is a long time to have pain, typically it does resolve and get better.
