Pain In Band Around Ankle
Will it hurt to wait on consult for severe ankle sprain? Can walk on it. Just swollen with burning pain at rest around ankle band & w lateral movement
I wouldn't wait BUT: Perhaps, one advantage to waiting on an ankle sprain to see anybody (such as X-ray) would be to give swelling a chance to be under control. So you could be doing typical R.I.C.E. maneuvers of ice, elevate, & compress ankle & this is therapeutic. You should NOT be walking on it....even if you "can" until seen by a doctor....unless living in the bush and even then, I'd get the tribal doc to clear. ...Read more

Nice try. ..........: What ever the ace is doing, it' simply not enough. The swelling indicated that the ankle injury is to unstable to sustain normal weight bearing. You are destined to use crutches or a b/k cam walking boot. By the way, has the ankle been evaluated for the obvious problem. ...Read more

I've bruised a muscle in my ankle and I would like to know if I will still be able to do marching band the day of and dancing for a few hours??
Piper may get paid.: If the ankle bruise or sprain is severe enough and your subsequent activity is intense enough, then most likely you will be paying the piper for your decision to participate. If this is the case, be ready for it. Be sure to have ice, compression wrap and possible crutches at the ready, just in case you need them. ...Read more

Drunk+Xanax used rubber bands around ankles and put 85+ push pins in bottom of feet 4 3hrs. Days later Feet tingle tearing feeling when bent numb toe?
It sounds to me like: You are in a great deal of emotional turmoil. The combination of alcohol and xanax (alprazolam) can be lethal in some people, or equally bad, can lead to respiratory depression, decreased oxygen, and brain damage. I am not sure what the push pins are for, I am assuming this is some kind of similar behavior to cutting, and if so it is another cry for help. See your doctor and/or a mental health professional!!! ...Read more
My right IT band and ankle are super tight. Is this caused by my femoral neck fracture I had 5 mths ago. I stretch daily is there anything else I can Do?
I do not have diabetes. I have a wide constricting band that goes from the top of my foot and wraps all the way around the arch. Tight to ankles/ toes?
Band Aid.: From your description, you just feel a tightness as opposed to the skin being actually tight from edema. This sounds like a neuropathy or nerve entrapment limited to the foot area. Even possible low grade trauma (shoes) to the area. The best way to find out is to visit your Doctor for a referral to a neurologist. ...Read more

I have a 2 inch cut on my lower leg that hasn't healed yet. After taking of my band aid there was a slimy substance on it. Should I be worried?
Clean it: With soap and water and pat it dry. If it comes of and does not look infected that is good. Get se bacitracin at the store and put it on it. Leave it open to the sunlight if you can bandsidsnare very bad and should not be used. They don't let the skin breathe and that slimy stuff builds up. Plantar Fasciitis: This is probably plantar fasciitis. Make sure you are using good supportive shoes. Otc soft orthotics can help.
