Not sure: twitching can be benign esp as its only been there a short time. The muscles on back of head can cause pain via spasm. Basically if it persists see your GP who may get you a neurologist. ...Read more

Very common: Poor posture leads to a muscle strain and back/neck pain. Most patients do not have a serious spinal problem. However if your pain accompanied by neurological deficiency (numbness, weakness) call a doctor. Moist heat, stretch exercises NSAID (otc) aleve (naproxen) and good mattress are very helpful. What could cause an isolated, sharp pain in the back right side of the head? It happens about once or twice per hour and lasts for 10-15 seconds.

Hard to say: If the pain is sharp and lasts just a short time as you say it usually is a musculoskeletal irritation that can cause these types of shocks. Need more information as to whether you can palpate a tender area and whether there is any pain that is constant.
