Pain In Back Of Head When Bending Over
Head injury- 2 days later. Sharp pain in back of head when bending over and it goes away after standing up. Neuro exam normal.
Need more info: if you hit the back of your head this could be occipital neuralgia, another possibility is a pinched cervical nerve which can get more compressed with certain neck positioning (MRI C-spine would show it); if sharp pain is primarily below the hairline, this could also be a muscle strain at the back of the neck (worsening with neck flexion), need more information to help you figure this ...Read more
Tension headache: It seems that a muscle that runs from the back of your head to the neck on the left side is tight causing muscle tension headache, especially when you perform the activities you mentioned. Applying heat or at times ice might help. Stretching exercises to relieve tension will help along with medicines like ibuprofen or naproxen . It's normal when having occipital neuralgia that the stabbing pain of right part of my head to get worse when bending forward, i get dizzy also.
