Walking (Definition)

Your doctor may also suggest a safe exercise plan. Walking is usually the easiest type of exercise, but swimming or other low-impact exercises can work just as well. Exercise is an important way to keep blood sugar in control, and physical activity in pregnancy has been found to decrease the risk ...Read more

I'm having pain on the outside of my left foot near my pinkie toe. It is a very noticeable dull ache whenever I put pressure on my foot when I walk.

Pressure area?: Pain in this area could be due to pressure from walking and perhaps shoes. I've noticed that people tend to have pain in this area from a bump called a tailor's bunion. And sometimes people tend to put more weight than normal on this area when walking. If it doesn't go away, have it checked out. ...Read more

I walked with an odd limp for four years before my right hipsurgery. Its been 8 months post surgery and I walk fine now. But I have pain in the ball of my left foot, going up to mysecond toe. What is the pain from?

I walked with an odd limp for four years before my right hipsurgery. Its been 8 months post surgery and I walk fine now. But I have pain in the ball of my left foot, going up to mysecond toe. What is the pain from?

Ball of foot pain: Pain at the ball of the foot could be from many things. One thing that could cause extra pressure there is tight heel cord post-surgery bed rest. Out heel cords need to be stretched and tight cords can lead to many problems in the foot. Other possible ball pain etiologies are inflammation, ligament tear, neuroma, or stress fracture, etc. See your podiatrist for a better evaluation. ...Read more

I have a cluster of lumps on the right side of my left foot I walk a lot at work and sprained my big toe years ago sometimes it hurts me please help?

I'm a little confuse: With your question. You have two complaints yes? They sound like they are separate problems. I would recommend you see a foot doctor for both issues.
1) you should get a diagnosis for your "lumps".... Without seeing a picture it is hard to formulate a guess. 2) your big toe - the first mpj bears a lot of weight and xrays and in personal evaluation is important to rule out what is wrong. ...Read more

Why can't I bend the toes on my left foot upward anymore? I also have a limp in my left leg when I walk, but I do not recall injuring myself.

Why can't I bend the toes on my left foot upward anymore? I also have a limp in my left leg when I walk, but I do not recall injuring myself.

Flexing toes: If there was no injury involved, is there any medical issue you have? Besides limping and flexing the toes upward, do you have any other discomfort or sensation that not happen before? When you limp on left leg, do you feel pain? If yes where, at foot, knee or hip level? I would recommend you to get it check out with the professionals for evaluation. ...Read more

Left foot big toe feels tingly, just the tip and bottom. I have been wearing flats and wide toed supportive shoes. I don't run but walk a lot.?

Nerve issues: tingling is a nerve problem. It could be coming from anywhere from your big toe up to your lower back. Locally, the nerve could be irritated at the big toe joint by how you walk even wearing the shoes you stated. It also could be a sciatic problem from your lower back. If it gets worse, have it checked. ...Read more

Top left foot okay so I have been training for baseball these past couple of days and now for 3 days now right under my toes it hurts when I walk and it kinda looks a little bigger than my right foot it kinda feels like I have to crack my toes but they wo

"looks: "looks bigger"... Does that mean swollen? Given that you're training for a sport that involves running, the first thing that comes to my mind is a stress fracture of a metatarsal. There are other things that can cause pain and swelling in that area, but you should see a podiatrist or orthopedist and get the thing x-rayed. If you do have a little stress fracture, the last thing you should be doing is trying to flex your toes to crack the knuckles.

Hope this helps. ...Read more

Pain in left foot, balloffoot, top of foot near toes, arch of foot pain. Pain left side of karf. Its been like this for a month, hard to walk. What's this?

Pain in left foot, balloffoot, top of foot near toes, arch of foot pain. Pain left side of karf. Its been like this for a month, hard to walk. What's this?

Stop Playing around.: Sounds like there's a whole lot going on here. Any one of the areas of pain could be the problem and compensation causing the rest.
Could be soft tissue or bone or both. Your best bet is to have it examined to eliminate the possibilities. My guess is that you will need a cam walker of stabilize the foot for a while. ...Read more

I noticed that the area below my big toe on my right foot (the sesamoid bone area) is thicker/bonier than my left foot. Even when I walk I feel it touching the floor more compared to my left foot. Is this normal?

I noticed that the area below my big toe on my right foot (the sesamoid bone area) is thicker/bonier than my left foot. Even when I walk I feel it touching the floor more compared to my left foot. Is this normal?

No not normal: This is not normal. You are probally putting more pressure on the one foot than the other. This could be doe to your gait or you may have a limb length discrepancy where one leg is longer than the other. You may benefit from orthotics ...Read more

I ran a 1/2 marathon and after the arch in my left foot started hurting. I think I'm lifting my toes now when I walk. May be leading to hip pain.?

Give it time: If you finished the race just recently, you might just have some irritation of your plantar fascia. If you can walk and this was recent, just ice it, stretch gently, and give it a little time (and I see you are taking advil, (ibuprofen) which is reasonable). I wouldn't jump to an xray or an MRI just yet! If your symptoms are all in your foot, and you don't have neurological symptoms, ok to wait. ...Read more

24f, my left foot is throbbing just sitting there and hurts on my right side when I move my foot/toes get a shooting pain up to my leg an can't walk.?

I would have it: Evaluated as there are many possibilities from a neuropathy as you mention shooting pain, a tendonitis as it travels. The fact it is throbbing generally connotates some degree of swelling. The fact, you can't walk implies pain is severe. See your foot doc or orthopod. ...Read more

Top of left foot nickel size bruise grey under that is red. Only hurts to walk put too much pressure on it. Toes. 3 4 5 hurt to move. No stairs?

Stairs are: Really hard because you flex the ball of your foot and usually bend your toes. You might have a small fracture under the bruise with that much pain and might benefit from a surgical shoe. I might not cray it right away but watch it and see how you did in that hard soled shoe. Ice it 15 minutes 3 times a day for a few days. (you did not say what you did or when but it sounds pretty new) ...Read more

I have pain in my left foot when I walk, a bone grows and becomes like a little bump. I use a sole to raise my foot but what else can I do?

Seek Podiatry Help: You may have a bone spur or bunion. A bunion is more likely and can cause intense pain, aching, and throbbing with ambulation. Sometimes a cushion may help. Make sure your shoes are well fitting, avoid pointed shoes (even if you are a male). Likely you will need to see a podiatry. ...Read more

My foot feels numb in the heel of my left foot. When I walk maybe once are twice it felt like maybe plastic was on my foot. It only happens when I lay down. Also when I hold things to long it feel like my hand may go numb (not all the time but sometimes)

DependsOnLottaThings: We all get funny feelings now & then Like just last night I felt like I was being choked by a Bigfoot. Turned out to be a bad dream. But in your case it depends on how long this has been happening and if the symptoms vary. Also your age & if you have any other medical problems. If this has been going on for more than, say, 2 months, see a doctor, preferably a neurologist, but your regular doc will do ...Read more
