My husband will get a burning in his throat then followed by extreme pain going down his left arm. What could this be?

It can be his reflux: or if he has a cardiac history that has to be ruled out. There's nothing listed on his history, but if the pain continues and is ongoing, seek immediate medical care, ER or Urgent care and get this evaluated! Have an EKG, and have the clinic run cardiac lab work, and make sure it's not a heart attack, or something else cooking. Be careful! ...Read more

Radiculopathy: At your age, and given your history, your symptoms are more likely to be from a pinched cervical nerve (radiculopathy) than from a cardiac issue. It would be reasonable to watch it for a couple weeks - most such symptoms will resolve with time. Different causes: First of all, would like to know if any history of trauma prior to onset? If so, xray should be done to rule out a fracture. What bothers you the most:moving the neck or moving the shoulder? The problem could be coming from the neck, shoulder or a combination of both.
