I have disc protusion l5s1 with sciatica pain in buttock, leg & testicles. Testicle pain is getting a lot worse. (no torsion) should I be concerned?
Nerve irritation: Buttock pain that radiates down a leg most likely is the result of a nerve irritation. It may be secondary to a herniated disc, foraminal stenosis or muscular compression as in the piriformis syndrome. Would recommend that you see your pcp for an evaluation to determine your exact diagnosis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What could cause this? Bad pain left buttock. Right leg turned outward. No pain in leg. Worse walking, standing.Feels like something crawling on leg.
My doctor told me I have sciatica but I have no back pain just buttock and leg pain which is more intense at night and early morning why is that?
For most people the : Leg pain with or without buttock pain is the main symptom. There is usually no or minimal back pain although it may start with back pain and then as the leg pain starts or worsens , the back pain decreases or resolves. The pain is due to direct nerve compression. The timing of your pain, however, is not typical as most feel better at rest . You need a MRI ideally or ct to determine the cause. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I fractured my L1-L4 transverse processes . After 6 weeks still having lots of pain, stinging in hip& buttock. Pain down leg. Is this normal?
Back Fracture: Fracture of the multiple transverse processes can damage structures adjacent or passing through this bony structure. Pain down legs suggests involvement of a nerve or nerves. This could be due to bony fragment, swelling, muscle spasm or nerve injury. A follow up visit with your doctor and possibly a repeat MRI or nerve conduction study to determine cause. ...Read more

How can u differentiate between sciatica pain & piriformis synrome? Pain above & down left buttock & leg hurts to stand sit lay
Exam, studies, injec: It can be hard and piriformis syndrome as a diagnosis is likely often missed. Physical exam can help, a nerve conduction with the hip in neutral verses internal rotation can tell, response to injection into piriformis is most diagnostic. Also seeing a patient with severe pain running down the leg with a normal looking MRI of lumbar suggests something else like piriformis syndrome might be issue. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a 93mm unilocular midline ovarian cyst, possibly cystadenoma. Pain in lower buttock down leg, very restricted urination.
Need removal: Typically a CA-125 level would be checked to help determine the likelihood of malignancy. Sounds low based on the US findings. Regardless, the mass should be removed to relieve your symptoms and so that a pathologist can evaluate the ovary. Most times both tubes and ovaries would be removed and sometimes the uterus. Discuss with surgeon to make the best decision. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Mri-t12-l1 l4-l5 l5-s1 disk protrusion no nerve impingement or spinal stenosis. Left low back buttock leg pain ×3 wks. Foot cold tingling. Worse when sitting standing walking. 10 days steriod no help?
Delaying in this: Circumstance isn't advisable. Your symptoms suggest impingement, either through direct nerve compression or swelling around the nerve. In any event, a discussion with your neurologist/neurosurgeon about an epidural steroid (or transforaminal steroid) injection should happen sooner, rather than later. Although a cold, numb foot may be related to other (vascular) problems, nerve problems are primary. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
