Tender and warm?: Is the lump tender or warmer to touch than surrounding skin? If so, there is the possibility of a localized infection or abscess. Could also be an inflammatory response to something that was injected. ? Hematoma: Since you take Ibuprofen you may have developed this hematoma when you got the injection. One of the side effects of Ibuprofen is that you bleed or bruise more easily. A hematoma is a collection of blood under the skin. You should apply warm soaks

Probably a hematoma.: The vein that had blood drawn from it likely continued to bleed creating a hematoma. She can elevate the arm and apply warm compresses to the area to help the hematoma go away. If her arm continues to swell, call your doctor.
