Unlikely: It is unlikely to be trapped gas but it could be from reflux. If you are having heartburn try an over the counter medication like zantac (ranitidine) to see if this gets rid of the sensation. See your doctor: Your symptoms certainly sound like "heart burn" or gerd (gastroesophogeal reflux disease), but depending on weight, family history, other med problems, etc, you can never be too sure it is not cardiac as well. Certainly try to avoid trigger foods for gerd (acidy, spicey, fatty foods, etc) and increase fiber and fruits. I have upper back pain between the shoulder blades. Seems to be more on the right. What should I do to relieve the pain?

Start some pain meds: Lie aleve (naproxen) or Ibuprofen (if no allergies or side effects with their use). Using a heat pad would be helpful.
