See a sports med doc: Knee injuries are pretty common in jiu jitsu! Sometimes the knee gets twisted in ways it wasn't meant to (heel hooks actually tear the knee not the ankle!) and leg locks hyperextend the knee. If you are injured during training, swallow your pride and sit out for the rest of the class. Immediately apply ice to where it hurts, and see a sports med doc to rule out a ligament tear or meniscus tear. ...Read more

Any exercise: That puts a strain on a healing knee is not wise! You may try "dynamic tension" that's tightening your thigh (quadriceps) and loosening it without moving your knee!

Not necessarily immediately and usually are warned to avoid "deep" squats where your needs go beyond 90 degrees. You just may need to adapt your squats based on limitations to your knee.
