I'm 28weeks pregnant why do I only feel movement below my belly button? Why is my baby so far down? Will he move up on his own? Is something wrong?

I'm 28weeks pregnant why do I only feel movement below my belly button? Why is my baby so far down? Will he move up on his own? Is something wrong?

28 weeks preg: Do not worry. As long as you feel fetal movement that is good. The fetus is small about 15 inches inches and should be actually settling in head down position for delivery. A sonongram will show you more regarding position. The fetus can hear and does blink and dream at this point.. Good luck Read more

In my first few weeks of pregnancy, can I feel my cervix at all? If its high or hard? Is it below my belly button that I should feel? Please explain

You shouldn't: You shouldn't be feeling your cervix. Let it be. As the pregnancy progresses, the cervix stays in its place and the uterus enlarges above moving above the pubic bone. Read more

For the past three days I have felt what feels exactly like a baby kicking inside my stomach. Right below my belly button. I'm not pregnant.

Need to be checked: At the risk of stating the obvious, if you are not pregnant then what you are feeling cannot be a baby kicking. You need to consult your physician to figure out what this really is. Read more

probably a hernia: Likely an insignificant hernia. If it becomes painful, grows, or symptoms of bowel obstruction develop (such as vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, pain, & distension)... Then you should get out checked before your next OB appointment. Read more

Where do pregnant women first see their stomach growing? Right below my belly button seems to be sticking out. I haven't had sex since september w/con

Yes: Mentally imagine the connection, an empty uterus sits in the pelvis. One with a fetus in it grows from there. Usually bulge up to belly button by 20 weeks. Should be setting yourself up with good prenatal care, prenatal vitamin, and obstetrician. Read more

I am 7 weeks pregnant, since 1 week my lower stomach (below my belly-button) is getting harder and bigger. Is it normal? Its visible only when I lie down

Depends: Rarely when a woman is very thin the growing uterus will begin to push your intestines out, causing a bulge, however this is rare at 7 weeks, and would not be "hard." perhaps you are farther along than you thought, or something else is going on. Read more

My uterus is still 1 1/2 inches below my belly button. I am 19 weeks 3 days pregnant. Is my uterus still low a cause for concern?

Not necessarily: The height of your uterus in your abdomen is only an approximation of appropriate fetal growth. Ultrasound is a better gauge of fetal growth and health. Read more

I'm five mnths pregnant and my stomach isn't hard. L also cnt feel my uterus below my belly button. Is this normal?

Well...: First, are you certain of how many weeks along you are? At 20 weeks gestation (about 5 months), we expect your uterine fundus to be as high as your belly button. Some women carry their pregnancies in a very "posterior" fashion, so may not "show" as much as other pregnant women. However, your physician should be able to feel the fundal height at this point; check with your doctor. Read more

Five mnths pregnant and can not feel my uterus below my belly button, my stomach isn't even hard yet! Could something be wrong?

Preg with sm uterus: Possibly. The best advice is to make an appt with an obstetrician, and to have a sonogram for fetal growth. This will provide the answer as to whether the baby is growing and appropriate for the age of your pregnancy. Read more

See PCP ; a surgeon!: Without a direct physical exam and more thorough history gathering, I would not be able to venture a guess other than a pathologic lymph node or perhaps a mass that would require biopsy, if not excision. Get seen this week! Read more

My uterus is still 3 inches below my belly button at 17 weeks pregnant. Is this normal?

My uterus is still 3 inches below my belly button at 17 weeks pregnant. Is this normal?

Most likely: In general, the uterus reaches the belly button @ about 20 weeks. At 17 weeks it is about the width of 3 fingers below the belly button. Let your OB know of your concerns at your next visit. If she is also concerned, she will probably do an ultrasound. I stress the term "in general" since these are just rough guidelines. Read more
