Needs to see your Dr: Unexplained burning pain to your thigh and forearm isn't normal unless you've experienced trauma or other neurological issues from a medical conditions. So, if this has continued over 2 days, it's time to see your doctor and have it examined further. There are several: different possibilities. Osgood-Schlatters is inflammation at the growth plate below the knee. Chondromalacia patella is softening of the cartilage behind the kneecap. And patellofemoral syndrome is abnormal motion of the kneecap in the groove of the femur. All 3 are common causes of pain in an adolescent athelete and can be differentiated on exam. Stop if hurts.: Pain is a sign that something is wrong. Continuing any activity that is causing pain can worsen the pain and the damage. Some pain is expected with training as muscles strengthen and endurance improves but new pain means something else. Unless we are getting millions as pro athletes, don't risk damage.
