Ear pain: Ear pain can be challenging, particularly when your ear looks normal. I see this quite frequently and usually the pain is coming from a nearby structure. One if the most common is the jaw joint. The jaw joint and the ear canal actually share a bone. Other things can feel like ear pain, too. Mastoiditis: Go and get checked by your doc. You could have inflammation in the bone behind the ear called the mastoid air cells. This can refer pain to the neck and also could affect your hearing. See a doctor!: Hi. This certainly isn't normal. I'm not sure what it is, but I do think it shouldn't be ignored, and that online is probably not the place to get it fixed. Lump behind ear: Most lumps behind the ear are either an enlarged lymph node, possibly infected (if it is tender) or a sebaceous cyst (a sac of cheesy smelling oil and fat), which can be tender as it enlarges.
