Need Diagnosis: An alternative is Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) or Progesterone only pills, which have other side effects. However you best option is to see and ob/gyn and have a diagnosis. A diagnostic laparoscopy will make the diagnosis of endometriosis and help pick the correct treatment for you. ...Read more

Menstrual cycle lasting 2-4 months. Pain is unbearable. Neg for endometriosis. Had DNC previously. No pregnancies. Tylenol (acetaminophen) does nothing for pain?

Prolonged menses: Have you discussed with your gyn going on birth control to help gain control of your menstrual cycles? You also say neg for endometriosis, how what that done? Did you have a diagnostic laparoscopy to look in your abdomen/pelvis for endometriosis lesions (only way to truly say for sure)? Imaging just does not pick up this very well. Hope this helps. Endometriosis : Endometriosis itself does not usually cause the kind of bleeding you describe, but it can be a contributing factor.
