If its getting bigger or causing pain, etc. Then need for investigating it further with xrays, mri/ct scans, blood work. PAF: Patellofemoral syndrome would be my first thought. Patella stabilizing brace or strap and Phys Therapy program to strengthen the VMO of the quads can be helpful along with modifying exercise to avoid aggravation.
