I am experiencing hip pain, low back pain, knee pain and pain shooting down the leg. The following also describe me: Back pain, Leg numbness, Leg ...
Multifactorial pain: Without exam/MRI difficult to label your pains. Low back, hip, leg pain and numbness clearly CAN be related to indicate disc problems in the low back with resultant discogenic and radicular pain. Ibuprofen/naproxen/acetaminophen can help some pain. For diagnosis/treatment, you need a lumbar spine MRI and formal evaluation to see if all problems tie together. Treatment possible. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
D-dimer normal, but now I have shooting pain down left leg bruising around ankle and swelling. Bad chest pain stabbing pain in left shoulder blade.
Have excruciating pain on my sciatica radiating to my hip then down to right above my knee on the back side of leg. Do have psoriatic arthritis.
Lets Rx the sciatica: About 20% of people with psoriasis develop a similar form of arthritis involving the spine. Thus, I would recommend we treat the sciatica w/either an anti-inflammatory like Motrin until you can get to your MD,like a spine specialist for a possible neuropathic medicine. They may also do an MRI or EMG to get more data in consideration of an epidural injection. Then its time for core PT. L5-S1 microdiscectomy Fri for left leg sciatic pain. Calf/foot pain relief w/some thigh/behind knee pain. Pain less AM but sharp pain down left leg into foot w/pain level of 9.5 & hurts sitting/lying.
Microdiskectomy: Give it some time; sometimes simply moving the roots around can upset the lumbar plexus and give you intermittent (even quite severe) pain, although it resolves within a week or two. Getting to the disk requires mobilization of the roots and inflammatory changes from that- or the disk herniation- itself can give this pain. As long as bowel and bladder OK, hopefully this will resolve also. Best! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
L lower back pain and L hip bone pain, hurting for 2 months..constant dull aching pain sometimes felt in front of thigh and shin. What could it be?
Hi I have Si joint pain or piriformis, sharp pain in back, stabbing pain in thigh and calf it doesn't travel. now stabbing pain in front ankle, related?
Sciatica?: In my experience, "SI joint" and "Piriformis" syndromes are commonly over-diagnosed by mistake. Instead, I do see a lot of cases of sciatica from degenerate discs and pinched nerves in the lumbar spine. From your description, I wonder if you might have a pinched L5 nerve in your lumbar spine. http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/spine-anatomy/all-about-l5-s1-lumbosacral-joint ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Consider: Visiting a chiropractor. There you will receive x-rays of your back, and treatment. They will refer you to a medical doctor if you require medication or further work up beyond an mri. And they are relatively inexpensive compared to the medical community. You can walk in bent, and walk out straight. Ya, that's what i would do. ...Read more
Lower back pain is causing shooting pain referred leg and hip and knee pain. What can I do for relief?
Likely unrelated: I think the symptoms in the leg and the head are separate even though they may be occurring simultaneously. The leg symptoms may be related to a disc compression some of the nerves that go down the leg. This may be more prominent in certain positions. Leg symptoms also may be due to referred pain from muscle or a disc. Also, not all headaches are migraines so it is important to have them evaluated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have arthritis in my knee. Along with the knee pain i have shooting pain down my leg towards the ankle. Can arthritis cause pain down the leg?
High lumbar disc: The combination of back pain, with numbness/pain radiating into front of thigh but not past the knee suggests a disc herniation l2-3 or l3-4. This is a <10% occurrence of all hnp. Other causes like piriformis syndrome (pressure on sciatic nerve due to pressure from hip muscle), or problems with the hip can also mimic these symptoms. Based upon age, hnp or piriformis most likely. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
