Not sure . . .: There are hundreds, even thousands of different blood tests, so it depends on what you are looking for. Decide what test you are looking for, and then see if there is a community screening program for that disease (hepatitis b screenings are done free in certain communities, by non-profit groups). Contact your local community clinic (usually don't need insurance) for more information. ...Read more
I have had a pain near my belly button on the left side for over a year. PA ran no tests 6 month ago but said it was "stress". What could this be?
You might have, but: Pain near belly-button (umbilicus) may originate locally due to infection or herniation, or be "referred" from another abdominal location like the appendix. Signs/symptoms of concern include: local redness & drainage, umbilical bulging that can't be reduced with gentle pressure, fever, vomiting, change in bowels, generalized abdominal tenderness (suggests peritonitis), worsening pain. ...Read more
I had a dui now I am required to go to group therapy do they test you for alcohol by etg or just 8 panel adams county pa?
Since only reason: to ask that is to try to beat it, an ethical physician's job is not to help you continue to hurt yourself. I have no idea what different programs in different areas use. You seem to think that it is more important to fool others than to face the fact that you are clearly developing a significant problem with alcohol. People with first DUI's have usually drunk and drove dozens of times before. ...Read more

For thoracic outlet syndrome. What sites on the body should I ask my pa to request to do a X-ray , mri, ct? And which test would be best?
MRI: A cervical spine xray can identify bony abnormalities (e.g., cervical rib) that can cause thoracic outlet syndrome and may be a good start, but it is not enough. Most experienced radiology centers have specific MRI protocols to evaluate for tos. Your pa can call the radiologist and ask how to order the test (e.g., MRI brachial plexus, MRI chest). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How long of abstinence from alcohol will give a normal CDT test level. I need this to regain my driving licence?
NinetyDaysToFreedom: The half-life of Carbohydrate-Deficient Transferrin (CDT, the substance tested in the CDT Test) is on average 17 days. And it takes about 5 half-lives to get near zero, assuming you stopped all alcohol intake. A half- life is the time for the amount to halve (duh). So 5X17=85 days so round up to 90 days or three months.Suggestion, at that point you'll be well on your way to having stopped drinking! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No: It is a collection of homeopathic "drugs, " which aren't generally tested for, and in addition are present in such tiny amounts that they wouldn't likely be detected even if someone were looking for it. All they test for is alcohol, and most versions of rescue remedy are alcohol-free. For those that are not, the amount of alcohol is minuscule and should not interfere with the tests. ...Read more
