Is it safe to take 2 overactive bladder medications Detrol (tolterodine) LA 4mg with Oxybutynin Er 10 mg...

Not a good idea: They are the same class of medicine (antocholinergic) and both work in pretty much the same way, by reducing spasm of the muscle that contracts to push urine out of the bladder. Are there any other over-the-counter drugs which work like oxybutynin?

Are there any other over-the-counter drugs which work like oxybutynin?

Something close..: There isn't any med that works like Oxybutynin that is available otc, but meds such as diphenhydramine/meclizine/dexbromphiramine etc. Can have similar (but less potent) effects on the bladder muscles. Thus use of these meds may reduce the urgency/frequency of urination problem which is more frequently treated with oxybutynin/tolterodine/solifenacin etc...Consult doc if u have problem. Good luck. ...Read more
