If anabolic steroids increase estrogen(e) levels, will boosting testosterone naturally(ie taking vit d, lifting weights, abstinence) also increase e?
Your "natural": Methods do not "boost" testosterone. That's determined by endocrine feedback mechanisms and other factors. Any increase in testosterone will lead to minor increases in estrogen due to hormone conversion, but they are insignificant and meaningless except in people who take excessive exogenous testosterone. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams. ...Read more
Does normal (1.01) "thyroxine (t4) free, direct, s, " normal (0.931) "tsh, " and low (67) "triiodothyronine (t3)" = Synthroid dose good? Or go up/down?
Serequel 50 mg (anti psychotic) increase proctalin levels, does that mean it decreases testosterone significantly?i ask from bodybuilding perspective
Usually not: also you might not necessarily have a change in prolactin level on that dose. Diphenhydramine, which you list as a medication you take, can raise your body temperature and may not be safe to take when doing strenuous exercise. It can also impair your attention and cause psychosis. ...Read more
61 yr. Female with TSH 12.23 (12 hr. Fast). I supplement a few drops of atomized iodine transdermal. Mom/sister have thyroid issues - take synthroid (thyroxine).
Hypothryroid: By definition you are hypothyroid, though it would be useful to know your levels of free T3 (liothyronine) & free t4. However, the most important question is if you have symptoms of hypothyroidism- see http://www.Stopthethyroidmadness.Com/long-and-pathetic/ iodine is usually fine but you will likely benefit from taking thyroid if you are symptomatic. ...Read more

Thyroid labs normal.
62yr old female taking 50mg dhea. Its wonderful; increased energy, bone mass, losing fat, libido came back. Is is detectable in employee drug test?
No: Dhea is metabolized to cortisone, estrogen and testosterone -- and you can';t control which one is goes to. Also, there is no medical indication to take it in the first place, and most of the dhea supplements have little dhea in them. Worry about your health, not a drug test. Don't get your medical advice from tv or the internet! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How to lower SHBG? it is hugely over reference range. Am 62yr fit, healthy. Estradiol, thyroid, liver great, but FREE Testos dropping as SHGB climbs
Check w/your: doctor and repeat lab. SHBG levels increase with estrogenic states (oral contraceptives), pregnancy, hyperthyroidism, cirrhosis, anorexia nervosa, and certain drugs. The increase in SHBG shouldn't lower your free testosterone unless you are also developing testosterone deficiency. You need further work-up. ...Read more
How could free testosterone measured by equilibrium dialysis (mayo labs) be over 50% more than calculated free testosterone (issam.Ch)? Data (4/26): tt 533, shbg 41, albumin 4.5, cft 9.7, ft 15
Lab variation: The calculated free t will depend on how accurately the lab measures each component (total t, shbg, albumin) as well as the algorithm used to do the calculation. The free t by dialysis can be more accurate, as it depends on one test being done correctly. However, labs vary enormously in how well and accurately they can do the test. If the levels are normal, don't fret the details. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 17 yo son has purchased: Test 600c (testosterone), Tren 75 (Finabolan), Var 10 (Anavar) and d-Anabol 25 (metandesenolone). Dangerous? Pls advise
Yes, very!: If your son has "purchased" these anabolic steroids, in all likelihood, he is not under the management of his physician. Excess T from unsupervised use is very dangerous and can increase risk for heart attack, stroke, mood changes, etc. It can also render men infertile as well as shut down T production. Best to see family doc for evaluation. If he truly has low T, need to find cause first. ...Read more
