Oxcarbazepine is a sodium channel blocker, one of the anti-epileptic pharmacotherapies with a keto group at the 10 carbon position. It is approximately 50% protein bound in the plasma. It is sometimes used for the treatment of pain, such as chronic pain with neuropathic components, headaches ( for example trigeminal neuralgia). Some of its side effects include dizziness and vertigo, fatigue.

No worry: Mirena (levonorgestrel) works by the fact that it is in your uterus. Even IUD without medications are effective for birth control. Secondly, the effect to reduce your bleeding is local to your uterus, not systemic. So it will still work for your bleeding. Bipolar and Mirena (levonorgestrel): Yes Oxcarbazepine may decrease the hormonal contraceptive levels decreasing the efficacy of your Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD. Not sure why your doctor would not answer this question. So, you need to use another form of birth control with your Mirena (levonorgestrel) when you have sex or have your psychiatrist make changes in your medications.
