Ovulation While On Junel Fe
I am on a combination pill (Microgestin FE 24) and have been since April. I still ovulate... Is that normal???
Good about taking loestrin 24 fe for 2 years. Missed one pill 2 weeks ago, took 2 at the regular time the next day. Is that enough time to ovulate?
Missed pill: Usually you can miss one pill a month and still be safe. However, you are on a low dose pill, so a condom backup is probably the safe choice this month. ...Read more
Possibly: Any birth control pill can cause cramping and other symptoms, but if you had unprotected sex before starting this pill and you have taken it just for 5 days pregnancy is a possibility so i would recommend to get tested for that. Another possibility is infection which in order to be confirmed needs to be checked by your gyn provider. ...Read more
If taken correctly, can you ovulate on lo loestrin fe? Having symptoms of ovulation and have been on BC for 3 months
If you're on a loestrin 24 fe how likely are you to ovulate on 1 day you miss it 16 days into the cycle? (took 2 next day and Plan B day after)
Not likely : Missing one pill usually does not affect birth control pills efficacy. Taking Plan B on top of that should have prevented ovulation as well. To be sure check a pregnancy test in 10 days but i suspect you are okay. Also when you forget to take a pill don't have sex that day. ...Read more

For the future and for anyone reading this post, if you do not understand your doctor's instructions, you should call the office and let the staff know you need clarification. They will ask the doctor and someone should call you back by the end of the business day. It is difficult to ask a question such as yours in a forum like this because we do not know all the details of your case and what your doctor was trying to accomplish with the medication regimen.
Hopefully everything is sorted out by now.

While taking junel fe 21 can you have your period while taking the active pills or will the cycle always start the week you don't take any pills?
Yes but.....: When you take birth control pills (BCPs) you typically have no bleeding while on the active pills but then have your menses 2-4 days into the placebo pills (not active pills). If you have bleeding while on the active pills it is more likely breakthrough bleeding (progesterone dominant effect). If you are just starting the BCPs it may take your body 2-3 months to adjust to the hormones. ...Read more
