Anovulation: When you don't ovulate you still produce estrogen. Ovulation stabilizes, prepares for pregnancy and cuses a normal period when it doesn't happen. Either one: Based on this information you could have ovulated on either day. It is not usually clinically important to narrow it down to the exact moment of ovulation. Just have sex around that time. A one day discrepancy is not going to make much difference. ...Read more

Maybe: Best test for ovulation is a blood Progesterone level of > 3 ng/ml. Other than pregnancy (which is proof positive) the other tests are less specific. I think that bbts are kinda cruel so rarely suggest that my patients do them. Opks have been shown to only increase patient anxiety and not improve chance of pregnancy. So for patients with regular cycles i suggest sex on cyclec days 10/12/14/16. ...Read more

I am using temp charting and ovulation sticks to conceive. The sticks show ovulation is on day 18 but my temp rises on day 23. What could this be?

Increase not related: If the the test states you are ovulating and later your temp.rises ,it's not related to ovulation .If temp elevation is sustained as in 2nd half of cycle ,this could be pregnancy. ...Read more

Normal: What you described is normal variation during a menstrual cycle and you should expect a normal next cycle unless you engaged in sex at the fertile period, in which case you could be pregnant.
