That: That is a very good question. Most women, after menopause, need more fiber in their diet, such as more fruit and vegetables, because their bowel motility slows. More calcium is needed as is vitamin d in order to prevent osteoporosis. Magnesium in your diet can prevent muscle cramping and also helps with slow bowel motility. So the best way to determine if you might be menopausal is. #1 the clinical definition which is no menstrual bleed for a year or more in an age appropriate female. #2 having your hormone levels, pituitary and ovarian checked. The two most common reasons for this are when women take hormones post-menopause and weight gain after menopause. If breasts are tender, this is not normal, and should be investigated. Also I assuming that mammograms remain normal.
