It begins with the formation of the corpus luteum and ends in either pregnancy or luteolysis. The main hormone associated with this stage is progesterone, which is significantly higher ...Read more

How long should your luteal phase be? Does it change each cycle? I ovulated on 11th jan and had sex 11th-13th jan .

It can vary: In a cycle that is exactly 28 days, the luteal phase would be about 14 days. However, many women's cycles are not exactly 28 days, and may even vary from month to month. My cycles are between 23-28 days. I ovulate in between 13-15th day. Which gives me a short luteal phase. TTC for 10 months now! Should I worry?

They have reproductive medicine/treatments to regulate ur cycle & hopefully can tell if u or ur partner have medical issues that keep u from conceivn ...Read more

Can not conclude: One can not draw conclusions regarding ovulation or you luteal phase based on watery mucous during one cycle. You could try a home ovulation kit to confirm ovulation. If your discharge continues then schedule a visit for testing for bacterial vaginosis and other infections. ...Read more

Is it possible to have estrogen surges during the luteal phase? Particularly about 3 days after ovulation?

Yes: There is commonly a "secondary" estrogen surge during the luteal phase produced by the corpus luteum, although Progesterone is the larger surge during this time. This secondary estrogen phase is responsible for the one to two days of "fertile" cervical secretions and lower basal body temperatures and this tends to occur several days after ovulation. ...Read more
