U might be having an: acute LBP due to a disk herniation. Any pain going down the leg or any numbness in your leg/foot/toes?? Any urinary or bowel problems, like loss of control? Normal pressure hydr: I agree w/Dr. Ihle that spinal stenosis & upper motor neuron disease are high on list making it difficult to walk & balance. Peripheral neuropathy in someone w/long-standing poorly controlled diabetes could do this. Vitamin B12 deficiency too perhaps. Many possibilities: Arthritis in major leg joints (hip, knee, ankle, foot) can limit walking. Stenosis (narrowing of nerve channels in low back) can cause leg pain, weakness, feeling. Neck or midback stenosis can compress the spinal cord, making walking difficult. Brain & other nerve problems can affect walking. Poor leg circulation is another possibility.
