Ok, is " men's 1 a day " pro edge, a good multivitamin/multimineral supplement good to take? I heard on a tv show that its not, is that true.
How long does multivitamin multimineral supplements stay in your system? I finally realized that my multivitamin was causing acne all over my face.
Vitamins and Acne???: Vitamins causing acne? Balderdash! There is no harm or acne caused by taking a multivitamin. I would certainly be happy knowing the source of that incredible folktale? So go ahead and take your multivitamin and don't worry about acne related to it. ...Read more

Possibly: Iron can cause constipation and is commonly in multiple vitamins. Iron absorption is decreased by stomach acid blockers. Young woman need iron because of losses during periods. Increasing fun, daily exercise is always helpful. ...Read more
Yes: Yes, it's perfectly fine, especially if you don't eat perfectly (as most of us don't!). I don't know if you're on other prescription medications, but if so, double-check with your pharmacist to make sure you can take the vitamin at the same time (some meds you want to separate out the vitamin from the medication). ...Read more
My centrum multivitamin has 100% rda of everything in it including iron. Is this safe even if I get these nutrients in my diet?
Why do get a squeezing feeling in my stomach about 10-15 minutes after taking Centrum, this doesn't happen with other multivitamins I take?
Drug intolerance: You may be intolerant to one ingredient of the Centrum. Compare with the ingredients in the other multivitamins and see what is missing in other multivitamins which you do not have any problem to take it. ...Read more
I want to take Centrum Silver multivitamins. The ingredients on the box say it has acacia in in. I have allergies to the acacia tree. Is it the same?
Yes and no, but...:
Acacia does come from acaia trees, but even if you are allergic to the pollen of acacia trees it does not mean you'd react to acacia in the vitamin. BUT there are many multivits that are FAR better than Centrum Silver. For my detailed critique of Centrum see http://tinyurl. Com/mzrkbx8

Men have different health needs: Than women. The supplement for women's health that deals with hormonal balance is not the same as the ones used to support men's prostate health. On the other hand, many of the ingredients in centrum is too low to be effective in either sex. So, it may not matter. This also goes for many of the costco multivitamin formulations, unless it's from a reputable brand that has higher rda's. ...Read more
Well formulated: It is a well formulated vitamin, meaning it contains the ingredients that are essential in a multivitamin. It is hard to speak to its quality as there is no real regulation on supplements. You have to rely on reputation of the brand. It certainly won't hurt you to take it. ...Read more
No, I know of no vitamins that make you gain weight; some may occ. Help weight loss a bit by boosting metabolism.
However, I consider Centrum a poor-quality vit.; many of its nutrients are in suboptimal doses & poorly absorbed. It has many ingredients (like aluminum and titanium dioxide) that are toxic!

I looked up their ingredient list online, and did not see iron listed. However, I did take note that they contained:
FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake, FD&C red #40 aluminum lake, FD&C yellow #6 aluminum lake.
Aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's.

MVI (multivitamin) + Fe: Taking a multivitamin and iron at the same time is fine. The acidity in vitamin c helps you absorb iron better so that is good to take too. Just be careful you aren't taking anything that interferes with iron absorption at the same time, like calcium, tea, zinc, or acid-blockers like pepcid, zantac, (ranitidine) prilosec, or prevacid. ...Read more

What are the negative consequences of taking both a multivitamin (centrum) and acai berry pills everyday?
No, but consider...: Centrum is ok but not a very good multivitamin.A study which ranked 101 multivits ranked centrum silver 54th of 101 brands; I wouldn't rank it even that high- see http://www. Multivitaminguide. Org/ & see http://drrandybaker. Com/2012/11/11/vitamins-really-do-prevent-heart-disease-beware-of-bad-studies/ for my critique of centrum. Not the greatest: Centrum is better than some but I would never call it "high quality" as many of its ingredients are present in inadequate doses or in forms that are poorly absorbed (such as magnesium oxide) or proven to be unhealthy (such as synthetic vit e, artificial colors that contain toxic aluminum ; hydrogenated oils). There are many much better options- see http://bit. Ly/18xyule ; http://bit. Ly/1b36cq0. ...Read more

Can you take centrum multivitamin twice today if you are very active individual and it takes a lot of work for you to walk into every day activities?
Yes, however...: Centrum doesn't have levels of vitamins and minerals that would be toxic to take 2x/day but it does have toxic additives including aluminum, artificial colors and poor forms of vitamins like synthetic E that may be toxic. You can do FAR better by taking a high quality mulitivit. Such as UltraNutrient by Pure Encapsulations or Ultra Preventive X by Douglas Labs. See http://tinyurl. Com/mzrkbx8 ...Read more
Centrum is ok: I don't specifically endorse any one brand but I recommend a good mulivit has about 100% of the rda for most vitamin components. I see it as a nutritional seatbelt and huge excess percentages can be indicated but you need to have a reason to take then and a professional review it. Some have iron and some don't. In general, premenopausal women can have ones with iron. ...Read more
