Is this a sign of ovarian cancer or cervical cancer MRI shows bilateral ovarian cysts and small follicles also present on right ovary and iliac node?
Routine scan found a small" spot" "looks like fluid" on my liver and a "adnexal lesion" next to my ovary "could be lymph node". Follow up?
See answer: Very common, and more the rule than the exception, nowadays for current imaging studies (ct, ultrasound, mri, etc) to detect and report what are clinically insignificant findings. The question is which findings may be potentially significant and require follow-up imaging in a 3-12 month time span to look for any change in size/appearance. Best to ask your md who ordered the scan re: follow-up. ...Read more

Mass near right ovary found a year ago, comes and goes, painless. Now I have swollen lymph nodes. Are these related and what could it be?
Probably nothing ser: I doubt if it is anything serious. At this young age, I do not expect any health problems in your reproductive system. Lymph nodes are of no concern unless they are bigger than one inch in sixe and getting bigger. I would not do anything unless you have any symptoms related to your pelvic organs. You should relax and quit worrying. ...Read more
What could possibly cause my left ovary to hurt? I could feel my lymph node on my vagina when it swells. Even when I laugh or cough, it hurts bad.
In a new state. Autonomic dz is pots. Pit, liver, ovary adenomas. Thyroid has new solid nodules and nodes. Only bx'd node.? Ask for excision?
Thyroid nodules: I know more about pots than thyroid but in general if you have a node biopsied, if there is not diagnosis, they will likely biopsy nodule to determine whether to excise. If there is a diagnosis based on node biopsy, that will lead to best recommendation. Decision depends on the pathology and extent of tissue involved. If hyperthyroid, that can explain what was diagnosed as pots, as not pots. ...Read more

I have LRQ severe pain, CT & US show complex pelvic ascites w/ numerous prominent nodes in area + 5cm cyst on L ovary. No clear Dx. Should I be worried?
Very concerning: Ascites is always very concerning. Enlarged lymph nodes and ascites can be caused by infections but, of course, cancer is also a possibility. You definitely need to follow up with your doctor to find the diagnosis and begin treatment. Hopefully it will be something that is easily treated and very curable. Best wishes. ...Read more
Indeterminate but concerning lymph nodes in the mesenteric lymph nodes...In a CT scan report. Aslo 2 cyst near ovary. Doe this mean cancer.
Not necessarily: Why was the ct done in the first place? Slightly enlarged lymph nodes in the mesentery are not specific for cancer. They may be normal variant or inflamed nodes. Cysts in the ovary or near? If simple cysts unlikely to be malignant again. However, one's symptoms that led to ct scan should be the context in which one reviews imaging or lab results. ...Read more
Can a transvaginal ultrasound and/or pelvic ultrasound show enlarged lymph nodes around the ovary?
Yes,: But not reliably. Regional bowel gas can obscure pelvic lymph nodes. Also the position of the ovaries is variable, and they may not be situated next to internal iliac nodal chains. So not seeing enlarged lymph nodes on a pelvic sonogram is not sufficient to exclude them. CT or MRI is much better. ...Read more

Hyperstimulation: There is no such thing as a naturally occurring over active ovary. Perhaps as ovaries get older they experience the body's last attempts at fertility by being hyperstimulated by pituitary fsh to release more eggs (why twins more common with later age), but that's unlikely what you mean. Sometimes fertility md's will artificially stimulate as well, but this can be dangerous if not done carefully. ...Read more
