Constipation, frequent urination and sharp ovarian pain on left side for almost a year. Afraid of ovarian cancer?
Would a dr be willing to remove one ovary due to searing pain. Endo diagnosed but none seen on my ovaries but suffer from left sided ovarian pain.
Pain: It might be possible to convince a doctor to operate. But, you can determine if the pain is ovarian in nature by hormonal manipulation first to determine if the pain is truly ovarian in nature. Continuous birth control pills or Lupron (leuprolide) can often be used to determine if the pain is female in origin, or if surgery might correct the problem. DrG ...Read more

I was diagnosed with a left ovarian cyst in december. I have had left ovarian pain since october, now the pain is almost constant and pulling. Is it possible the cyst is still there a fairly large?
Cyst Followup: Depending on how large the cyst was when identified in december, it may warrant follow up with an ultrasound. If >5-8cm then you'd be at risk of a condition called ovarian torsion where your ovary can twist and get stuck because of the weight of a cyst. This can be a surgical emergency if the pain is persistently sharp and severe. May consider hormonal contraception for control of cyst formation. ...Read more

If I have pcos. How would i know if i ovulated that month if my periods are normal?Would I have ovarian pain of some sort?
Generally No: Ovarian nerve supply that relays pain is through the sympathetic nervous system between t11, t12 and L1 levels. This is obviously above the L4 and L5 levels you stated, however pelvic pain could still be related to non-ovarian causes and if you had significant pathology at l4/l5 it could be a source of this pain. I would see a pain/spine specialist to see what options you may have for treatment. ...Read more
Consider: It may be a urinary tract infection (which could cause pain the lower pelvis that could feel like ovarian pain) or a kidney stone. Ovarian processes (cysts, etc) shouldn't cause your urine to turn dark red or orange, that sounds like there is blood in your urine. You should be seen and have your urine tested. ...Read more

Sometimes scarring bands (adhesions) form after having surgery. These are often asymptomatic, but occasionally they manifest as pain later on. They can be difficult to confirm, but recurrent symptoms would prompt further investigation.
I would begin with an exam and a sonogram to evaluate for other causes such as an ovarian cyst. If nothing is identified, and the pain persists a DX laparoscopy. ...Read more
