My periods always regular. I am 43.Recently diagnosed with 3.5 cm functional ovarian or paraovarian cyst. Period delayed for a week .Cyst to blame?

Possibly: Yes, a cyst that produces hormones can delay the start of your period. I would also check a pregnancy test to be absolutely sure that you're not pregnant. As you get closer and closer to the age of menopause (average age 51), your cycles will likely get more irregular. ...Read more

Please help will taking bcp shrink a hemorrhagic ovarian lg cyst? Had for 7 weeks and keeps getting larger. history endo and dor waiting for IVF after cyst

Ovarian Cyst: This suggests that this cyst is not being regulated by hormones (ocs) and its likely not going to respond. You may need surgery to have it removed in order to move to ivf. This can also be an endometrioma with your history and you need this corrected prior to ivf. Good luck! ...Read more

See your Doctor: Dermoids can rupture if they grow and can undergo torsion (twisting cutting off the blood supply). Both would require surgery which you do not want to have to go through if you are pregnant. See your doctor for evaluation and discuss whether this should be removed soon ...Read more

Lower abdominal pain every day. Is there possibility to get ovarian cysts 3 mts after lap surgery for removing endometrioma? Taking pills, too.

Let your dr know : It may be time to see your ob/gyn doctor sooner than later for further evaluation of this. S/he can do an examination, and possible ultrasound to let you know what is really causing the problem. You don't want to really be guessing on this, as it may or may not be related to your previous procedure. In any case, it needs to be documented in your records. So that proper follow-up can occur. ...Read more

Has anyone ever had trouble with pain months after an ovarian cyst removal?

Has anyone ever had trouble with pain months after an ovarian cyst removal?

Yes: During reproductive age cysts are very common. Most women would have something considered a cyst at least once per year but would never know unless an x-ray test was performed due to pain. Often though the pain is completely separate from the cyst. The follicle (a cyst) that is the growing egg each month grows to 2-3 cm and ruptures each month. Cyst rupture is normal! cysts unusually cause pain. ...Read more
