Ovarian Cyst Pressing On Colon Intestines
Had CT w/o cont of kidneys to check for stones and only ovarian cyst was found. Wld CT such as that also have shown organs such as my colon/intestines?
The gastrointestinal tract starts at the mouth, travel down the tunnel (esophagus), which connects to the stomach, which then empties into the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum---the three parts of the small intestine (@25 feet). This empties into the colon or large intestine (about 5 feet), which then becomes the sigmoid colon, rectum and out the anus. So, every morsel eaten ...Read more
I have a complex ovarian cyst with septations and debris about 14ml in volume. It was 7ml 3 months ago. It's now pressing against my colon. Treatment?
Talk to your GYN:
Your personal GYN can best answer for your specific case, but generally if the cyst is enlarging and causing symptoms by pressing against your colon it may be best treated surgically. See link for more information on ovarian cysts.

Recently had a CT scan is it possible for a remarkably thickened sigmoid colon, bulky uterus, and ovarian cyst over 5cm to be related? Concerned
Guessing: This is hard to call form just a description of CT, not knowing any other clinical facts. Can say: 1) the bulky uterus is 100% unrelated to the other findings, the thickened sigmoid "may" be related to the ovarian cyst or vice-versa. A doctor who knows your whole history and exam could answer these for you, can't say more online. Good wishes ...Read more
Isolated pain in one spot of I believe small intestine. Thought ovarian cyst, ultrasound neg. Very intense pain at times, on and off. 4 yrs now. Ideas?
Possibly: Intermittent obstruction of the bowel by an adhesion, internal hernia, or intussusception. Figuring this out can be hard and there is no guarantee the cause will ever be found. You have to decide whether this is an issue worth pursuing. If so, a ct scan when you are having the pain may be useful. ...Read more

I went to the ER where I was diagnosed with colitis and an ovarian cyst on the right side. I do not have frequent bowel movement but pain Is awful.?
I assume the diagnosis of colitis was made after a CT scan was done to make the diagnosis of your pain. However it does not sound like you have symtoms of colitis, which is diarrhea.
So the imaging study that showed colitis is likely an incidental finding mimicing the radiographic characteristics of colitis ...Read more

4cm complex ovarian cyst. Mri can't ruleout neoplasm. Hysterectomy in apr. Age 37. Horrible pain, bloating, urinary incont. Bowel changes. Surgery?
May have to remove I: Complex ovarian cysts require closer monitoring and consideration of removal if they grow in size. The size is still not big enough to chase it and remove it right now. But an interval re-evaluation in 2-3 months will help to determine if it is increasing in size or not. If it grows over 6 months and the size is bigger than 6-7 cm, I would recommend surgical removal. But also get a ca125 level do. ...Read more
Have massive ovarian cyst and colitis. Now when ever I have a bowel movement it is blood clots. Is this serious or even normal?
I have a 9cm ovarian cyst attached to my bowel. Was referred to gynecologic oncologist for bowel resection. Scared ill wake up with a colostomy bag?
Small chance only: I do not know what exactly you have. However, if there is no inflammation in the area, which I believe it is the case and if the size of the colon above the lesion is not too distended and if resection is needed you should not end up with a colostomy. However, you never know what will the surgeon see/find when he/she enters your abdomen. So, if all is relatively "clean" inside, your should be fine. ...Read more
