Hi, I'm 48 yo, have endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pre-menopausal. CA 125 was around 200's then 159 the last one was 210 any concerns?

Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. It sounds like your doctor has done Ultrasound to evaluate ovaries as well. Your MD knows your history and risk, likely this CA-125 level is normal ...Read more

Been to dr & they found fluid behind uterus. Said it could be ovarian cysts causing pain, but now I have pain in groin sometimes. Should i be worried?

Probably ok: Once you ovulate, the fluid can be seen on ultrasound. The fluid can cause pain in your pelvis. If this the cause of the pain, it can take a couple of weeks to clear. Follow up with your doctor if the pain worsens. ...Read more

I am a 24 year old female with the following results from a transvagina scan; uterus (74x47x53mm), endometrial thickness of 20mm, ovarian cyst 15mm?

Normal scan: The size of the uterus and thickness of the endometrium are normal. You have a small ovarian cyst. This is also a normal finding. Your body makes a small ovarian cyst each month in preparation for ovulation. All these ultrasound findings are normal. Best wishes! ...Read more

Was told a few months ago my uterus is retroverted. I had two ovarian cyst 39mm x 30mm on the right ovary. Was that the cause?

Was told a few months ago my uterus is retroverted. I had two ovarian cyst 39mm x 30mm on the right ovary. Was that the cause?

?: This cannot be answered without more background and likely an exam/ultrasound. Retroverted uterus is normal, about 10% of women have this. Any source that says its abnormal is 50 years out of date. Ovarian cysts 30-40 mm are larger than normal but not large enough to warrant intervention; they should be followed up though. Best! ...Read more

Last weeks ultrasounds showed left ovarian cyst and fluid in uterus. No right ovary was visualized and I don't think it was the 2 times prior in 2013. Should I be concerned?

Last weeks ultrasounds showed left ovarian cyst and fluid in uterus. No right ovary was visualized and I don't think it was the 2 times prior in 2013. Should I be concerned?

Ultrasounds: Ovaries can be difficult to identify if there is a good amount of inflammation in the area, gas, fluid, etc. They tend to blend in to their surroundings, unless you have a really good ultrasound machine. Next time you go in, ask the tech to identify the ovary for you, and you'll see what I mean; in some cases it is very subtle. I would discuss with your doctor. Good luck! ...Read more

I have an ovarian cyst and find that my uterus cramps after I eat grapefruit, is this normal? Should I stop eating grapefruit?

Try it: There is no reason not to give change in diet a trial. Omit grapefruit and if it relieves symptoms, so much better. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
