Hello. Can ovarian cysts cause severe cramping and diarrhoea? I am due my period in 2-3 days. Thanks

Yes and No.: Ovarian cysts can cause abdominal and pelvic pain, but most patients do not describe this as cramping. Most of the time this is sharp, sometimes stabbing pain, but can also be a dull ache. Rarely is it "crampy". Ovarian cysts would not cause you to have diarrhea. Ovarian cysts are most often painful in the middle of your cycle, not at the end. ...Read more

If pain is persistent, please have your doctor examine u ASAP to determine he need for further workup. Hpe u feel btr ...Read more

See a doctor: It can be anything and you need to see your ob/gyn doctor, so a physical exam can be done to determine the actual cause, since your symptoms are so broad. If you feel it's an ovarian cyst, your doctor can determine whether it needs to be imaged, based on your physical, abdominal, and pelvic examination. Your history, onset of current symptoms, recurrences, and palpation will yield best results. ...Read more

Unclear: It's unlikely that the water (if it was water) in the cyst from the ovary would be related to your discharge. If a cyst breaks and the water in it spills, it's going to typically spill in our abdomen, not down through your tube and then uterus and then out vagina. Cramping likely has to do with your menstrual cycle. Discharge is normal every day. If discharge smells or itches, see md for evaluat. ...Read more

HPT: Will put you mind at ease. It always amazes me to hear that women say they feel a cyst forming because by all rights that should not be possible .Maybe you burst a follicular cyst when you ovulated , that causes lower abdominal pain usually on one side because it was the side you ovulated from and if bad enough some have had nausea and dizziness with that too. When you burst a follicular cyst blee. ...Read more

Unlikely: Your symptoms are not sounding like an ovarian cyst. Usually you'll have a one sided pelvic pain which can be quite severe, and will get worse over time. If concerned, please see your doctor for an evaluation. Good luck. ...Read more
