Ovarian Cyst Bursts Pelvic Free Fluid
5cm septated ovarian cyst burst 3 d ago. Hospital did not treat due to galbladder findings. Free fluid found too. Still have BAD lrq pain.Suggestions?
Pain control/US: Get an ultrasound to make sure there is no ovarian torsion. Finding a balance between pain and daily life is sometimes difficult. Expecting to be pain free is not possible because there is a ruptured cyst. Try acetaminophen and/or NSAID such as advil or aleve. Make sure blood counts are okay. Speak with your gynecologist to see if surgery is the appropriate treatment. ...Read more

I recently had a MRI on my hips which shows mildly complex heterogeneous ovarian cyst and presence of free fluid within the pelvis How serious is this
Hard to say: It is hard to say since there are many different causes of these findings. The first thing recommended should be a pelvic ultrasound with doppler flow studies. The cyst can be a functional cyst with hemorragh (caused by the function of the ovary-ovulation),an endometrioma, a cystic teratoma or dermoid, or a cancer. The doppler flow will be increased if it is cancer. ...Read more

Pelvic/Transvag sono on 8/22 showed partially ruptured ovarian cyst with small amount of free fluid. Would this cause bloating and abdominal fullness?
Could trace free fluid in the pouch of Douglas signify a leaking ovarian cyst? Or is trace too small of an amount since it was also around ovulation.
Interpretation: It is not possible to draw conclusions based on isolated aspects of a radiology study. It is very common to find a trace amount of fluid in the cut de sac when doing a pelvic ultrasound. Without knowing the clinical circumstances no conclusions can be made a this time. Physiologic fluid can be a normal finding. ...Read more
I'm 21. Which medication is more proper for ovarian cysts(5-8mm. No free fluid) in both ovaries- homeopathy or allopathy ?
Medical systems: Homeopathy and allopathy are systems of medicine, not medications in themselves. Allopathy means "other suffering" -- and refers to using treatments that cause effects different from those of the disease being treated. Homeopathy = "similar suffering" -- and uses minute quantities of medicines that would produce in a healthy person, symptoms similar to those of the disease. If sciatica pain was caused by free fluid from ovarian cyst, should surgery have relieved pain immediately? Or might it take a few days to resolve?
Hmm...: Well sciatica generally is not caused by anything in the abdomen, so highly unlikely the fluid from ovarian cyst caused your sciatica. I would have your doctor get an MRI of your spine if your sciatica doesn't resolve in a week or two as the most likely culprit will be a herniated disc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
