2 weeks &menses don't stop, secod weeks they are brown &black clots. Pain in pelvic&back, vomiting, dizziness, bloating&gases. Is a5, 5cm ovarian cyst cause?

Why does my 3.6 CM ovarian cyst hurt? Went to ER & they said to come back if having severe pain (meaning torsion) is bloating/pain really that normal?

Many possiblities: An ovarian cyst hurts due to the pressure of the fluid and the inflammation on the lining of the ovary. This will persist till the body resorbs the fluid. Bloating and sharp pain are normal for a cyst. Sever pain means a significant increase from the pain that took you to the ER in the first place. If your pain has worsened then see a doctor. May have to remove I: Complex ovarian cysts require closer monitoring and consideration of removal if they grow in size. The size is still not big enough to chase it and remove it right now. But an interval re-evaluation in 2-3 months will help to determine if it is increasing in size or not. Possibly: How big is the cyst? What are its characteristics? If a cyst suddenly ruptures, then it's possible to have some pain which will pass with some time and ibuprofen/advil. If the pain persists and worsens, see a doctor because it could be hemorrhagic (bleeding). Good luck! Consider birth control pills to prevent ovarian cysts from forming. ...Read more
