I had a MRI done of pelvis it says I have bilateral ovarian cysts 2.7cm and 2.9 CM also shows I have a proximal iliac node 1.7 CM what should I do?

See a doctor.: Ovarian cysts are common. One single mildly enlarged pelvic lymph node is nonspecific. Your doctor may elect to follow up the cyst to see if they would resolve on their own over 2-3 menstrual cycles. They may come and go. See your doctor for check up of the rest of your body to see if there are other enlarged lymph nodes. ...Read more

Ovarian cyst on left ovary for 2 years. Constant dull pain in groin area. Has not changed in size 2.75cm. Should i opt for removal?Dr leaving it 2 me

Maybe: You say that you've had a pain in the area for 2 years, that's a long time. While the cyst is on the smaller side, at 2.75cm, if the pain is interfering with your quality of life then maybe a laparoscopic surgery would be warranted. Drs will recommend surgery when it's necessary, but when you're the one taking the risks, and there's no threat of cancer, then you are the best one to decide. ...Read more

Not sacroiliac: Sacroiliac joint problems don't produce those types of symptoms. Pelvic, muscular, or ligament problems are more likely. Has your gynecologist cleared you of all pelvic problems? Can a 2.5cm ovarian cyst cause bad groin pain and aching behind knee (same side). The ovary is painful and the groin/leg pain started at this time also?

Possibly: The ovarian 2.5 cm cyst is only one inch in diameter, but if it is sitting on a nerve that runs through your pelvis to your legs, you will get inguinal or radiating leg pain, depending on the nerve and its' distribution. Pose your question with the MD who diagnosed the cyst initially and if it is not a GYN MD then find one who is, that can examine you. ...Read more

I had an abdomen/pelvis with contrast CT and it showed in the report I had small bilateral ovarian cysts noted. Is that why my periods have been crazy?

I had an abdomen/pelvis with contrast CT and it showed in the report I had small bilateral ovarian cysts noted. Is that why my periods have been crazy?

Normal finding: Ovarian cysts are very common in women of childbearing age. Most women have ovarian cysts at some time during their lives. Each month, a follicle is formed in one ovary. At the time of ovulation, an egg is released from the follicle. Sometimes a normal follicle keeps growing resulting in a follicular cyst. If the report does not mention polycystic ovaries, you should not be concerned. ...Read more

I'm having severe pain and tingling on the right side of my pelvis where I have a very larger ovarian cyst. Should I seek medical attention?

Always your call, no: way to offer wise answer from a distance. At the same time beware of assuming than some anatomic observation noted at some previous time has any reliable relationship to what is currently happening, an extremely common mistake because people want/hope-for simple. The ovary is a cystic organ. Follicular cysts are what support development of eggs, ovulation, opportunity for fertilization, pregnancy. ...Read more
