At rest it is short and when you stand your foot arch flattens out and the fascia is pulled away from the bone causing inflammation. It generally does not go away on it's own. See a podiatrist for long term relief. ...Read more

Have u ever seen a pt. with bilateral plantar foot pain, no morning pain, pain worse when standing then walking? How was pt diagnosed and treated?

Strained arch.: Plantar foot pain, generally , can arose from 3 areas. The ball, the arch or the heel. The arch has the largest surface area, and it's no surprise that it is also the area the patients complain about most. You symptoms are more than likely due to a strain on the soft tissue structures in the arch, namely the fascia. Since it is on both heels it is probably due to your shoes. Start with the shoes. ...Read more

Looking for some guidance regarding pain in left foot. Pain at tip of 2nd and 3rd toes while walking. No real discomfort elsewhere in toes or foot?

TWO THINGS: I'm assuming no injury/trauma. First, is it the very early signs of a pinched nerve supplying the second and third toes; it's called a neuroma, most commonly affecting the 3rd and 4th toes. Second, if diabetic, is it the very, very early signs of diabetic neuropathy? Those are my thoughts. Sincerely, Dr. Latva ...Read more

Hi, I've heel and foot pain on both feet. The more I walk or stand the more painful it is. Sometime even without walking a lot. 10 min. Its been 2y..

Plantar Fasciitis: One of the most common sources of heel pain is plantar fasciitis which is an inflammation of the thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot and supports the arch. It commonly results in pain upon first standing up which eases with some stretching. It then gets worse over the course of the day. It needs to be thoroughly evaluated by a podiatrist to rule out other causes. ...Read more
