Otitis Externa Treatment In Pregnancy
Ear drops: For uncomplicated otitis externa that's not severe, drops like cortisporin (neomycin polymyxin and hydrocortisone) otic work fine. Severe cases may require different ear drops, and maybe oral antibiotics if it's really bad. To prevent, use drops that are a mix of 2 parts vinegar & 1 part rubbing alcohol- let them run in & right back out any time you get water in ears; don't use if already infected.See 1 more doctor answer
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Can otitis externa go away on its own without treatment and if so what do I have to do for it until it goes away?
Depends on situation: Oe usually responds within a few days to a week when the drops are properly used. Sometimes there is so much debris in the canal, the drops cannot get to the affected area & removal of the debris is needed. Sometimes a wick, a fabric that can hold the drops & bypass swelling & debris must be inserted.
How can I treat my otitis externa without medicine? I only poor and don't have money to see doctor and buy medicines.
See below: -make sure water doesn't enter your ear -do not scratch your ear; do not use q-tips in your ear. I understand your situation. If you do no improve w/ this non-medical management, you will need to see a doc. I do not recommend any over the counter drops or home remedies as a doctor needs to examine your ear, ear canal, and eardrum. A free clinic in your community should be able to treat you.
Otitis externa: Otitis externa (swimmer's ear) - infection of outer ear canal.
Swimmer's ear: Sometimes a small drop of water can get trapped behind a small piece of wax in the ear canal, either from swimming or bathing. Then, because it is a warm place, bacteria or fungus can grow causing pain and swelling, which can be severe. Ear drops and sometimes oral antibiotics and steroids are used to treat this condition.
My otitis externa is now okay and doesn't hurt anymore but there's a pimple like still inside I can feel it. And some smelly water coming out.
Continue treating: Continue applying the medication you were using until this has cleared. Or go back and see an ENT doctor.
Using locacorten vioform drops fungal otitis externa. How long to lie on side? I've been lying for 20 mins but drips out when I straighten. Normal?!
Ear: You can tilt your head the other way and let the drops sit for between three and five minutes. Some of the drops always come out. Make sure you keep your ear dry when you shower
Getting into see the doc for the otitis externa. Biggest fear that if it is worse and they have to clean them or use a wic is any of this painful????
If careful, no: If done carefully, there should be no problems. Tell your clinician upfront about your concerns and they will be more aware and careful. Hope that helps.See 1 more doctor answer
I have otitis externa. Is it ok that I don't have any medicine for my ear? I just take pain reliever to ease the pain.
Otitis externa: Swimmer's ear. Very painful infection of the external ear canal with significant tenderness to touch/tug on ear cartilage. Canal will often close with swelling. Puss-like drainage is very common. Can be very concerning if untreated or in diabetics, with spread of bacteria to bone around the canal.See 1 more doctor answer
Usually you can: Otitis externa only involves the outer ear, and this part of the ear is not sensitive to pressure changes. If the infection involves the ear drum as well or behind the ear drum (with fluid or negative pressure present- your doctor or ENT could tell you), then flying can be painful. I would get checked before the flight to be sure what is going on.See 1 more doctor answer
