Other Aleve Relieve Pain Concussion
Headaches that started with a concussion 2 years ago. They can be relieved with Aleve (naproxen) but never seem to really go away.
No, not early on: It is typically not recommended to take nsaids, of which aleve is one, in the early stages of concussion. This is because of the small but significant risk of bleeding that occurs with NSAID use and the possibility that there may be more of an injury to the brain (a bleed from a vessel injury) than just concussion. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is preferred as it is not an nsaid. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My brother plays football, and complained about a headache all day. The pain did not go away even though we gave him Aleve (naproxen). Is it a concussion?
Concussion?: Did your brother get hit in the head? It's kind of hard to have a concussion without being hit in the head. A headache by itself is a headache, not a concussion. What you should NOT expect from HealthTap is an answer to your question, "Is it a concussion?" There is no substitute (including HealthTap) for a hands-on assessment in a doctor's office. Please reread the HealthTap disclaimer. ...Read more

I've had on/off fever for months, but now it's been 11 days w/o relief with aleve/tylenol. Begins a few hours after i wake and i feel terrible. Ideas?
CIDP management: In my review, i did not find fever as a manifestation of cidp. However, cidp is an immunological disorder that makes you more susceptible to infections. You need to see the physician who is treating your cidp for an evaluation. If he(she) has no new suggestions, ask for a referral to an infectious disease specialist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
NSAIDs and sunburn: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids) like aleve (naproxen) can help with inflammation, swelling and stinging of a sunburn especially if used within the first 48 hours. Please be careful about taking them with food as they can irritate the stomach. Also some of these medications can make your skin more sun sensitive so avoid any additional sun exposure if taking. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
