Osom Trichomonas Rapid Test
Nucleic acid test: Negative duo test at 10 weeks is good but not fool proof. It would be better to get a HIV nucleic acid test. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more
Immunochromatography rapid antibody test negative @42 days.Blood serum CMIA screening [email protected] days(7th week) is 0.15 non reactive. Results conclusive?
Which is more reliable, an HIV duo test (antibody/antigen) at 30 days or a rapid result finger prick antibody test at 7 weeks?
HIV: HIV testing should be done repeatedly up to 3 months, but some would recommend longer. The best test would be a PCR for HIV RNA, but this is expensive. The duo test checks for p24 antigen and antibody and should be positive in most people at 30 days, but there are rare instances of false-negative results. The question about which is best cannot be answered and is irrelevant. ...Read more
Hiv expo 59 days, 23 day rna+combo test neg, gave blood for more test inclu HIV genotype. From urine test - abnormal protein.
1) why my doc asked geno test with neg result
2 abno protein means? Help
More info needed: Your HIV test results are nearly conclusive you don't have it. Otherwise, I can't help much. Ask your doctor directly. I don't understand requesting HIV genotype except in someone with confirmed infection; the test can't even be done unless RNA or DNA positive for HIV. Maybe you misunderstood? There are many causes of "abnormal" urine protein and HIV isn't one of them as far as I know. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
C.trachomatis RNA TMA Result: Detected. Standard range: Not detected. Test performed using the Aptima Combo2 (R) assay gen-probe(r)
You have chlamydia: "Detected" means the test found chlamydia -- i.e. a positive result. Return to the doctor or clinic where the test was done for treatment. (If you tested yourself at a lab, see a doctor or clinic ASAP.) Your current or recent sex partner(s) also need treatment. Good luck! ...Read more
+ gonorrhoeae DNA amplification test, but, neg. Amp RNA test(source urine). Do they have gonorrhoeae? Is one test more reliable?
Complicated: Although these tests are very sensitive there are false positive results because of the potential presence of other benign species of neisseria. If you had to compare the two it would be without much relevant data. Bacterial culture will provide both a definitive diagnosis and allow determination of antibiotic sensitivities. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can you detect spirochete infections(leptospirosis, borreliosis, syphilis) via blood culture tests? If not, why?
Should i get an ELISA or western blot test if my hiv1&2 rapid tests come out negative? Hiv rapid is reliable?
PCR: The reason i would urge you to get the pricey pcr is that is is clear that you are worried, and it is costing you emotional energy. Pcr is the gold standard and will give you the right answer before either of the others. I hope things turn out well, but having HIV is no longer a death sentence. Good luck, live and love responsibly, and keep taking a proactive approach to your health. ...Read more
It can happen: Revised reply: disregard earlier one if you saw it. At first I misunderstood the question. The newer TP specific IgG/IgM tests (EIA etc) and RPR/VDRL have similar seroconversion times, typically 4-6 weeks. The IgG tests often are positive first, but exact frequency of this isn't yet known -- more study needed. Apologies again if any confusion from earlier reply. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

4 month neg HIV test brief unprotected encounter with female is this conclusive 3 2ndgenantibodies test neg three rapids neg and a PCR undetectable ?
Probably, clarify.: The standard HIV test is first the elisa, for screening, and then the western blot for specificity. The western blot is done if the elisa test is positive. Nucleic acid tests, like pcr, are used in testing donor blood. Although the basic tests can be extermely accurate there is a chance of false negatives due to the up to 6 month seroconversion time it takes to make antibodies. See my comment. ...Read more

13Days after sex if i test for a 10 panel STD test of chlamydia gonorea syphilis etc will test results be acurate ?
No.: How will you be testing for these agents? Some require culture, some depend on antibody production, some use DNA technology. Tests dependent on antibody production are not likely to turn positive in two weeks. It would be preferable to see your doctor for the correct choice of tests. ...Read more
