Hi Dr, I had a sever pain on my upper arm when I lift my arm or just move it around, I took a couple of Tylenols (acetaminophen) and the pain got reduced but I still feel is there with some movements. what else can it take ? thanks - Oscar

Rotator cuff syn: if the the pain omly comes on with active motion of your arm then it only happens with engaging the muscles. The most salient group of muscles belong to the rotator cuff . Indications of this would be the arm waking u up when u roll on it, pain with reaching up to take something off a shelf decreased strength with lifting up above shoulder as well as any prior history of shoulder pain

Dad,Oscar, was told stage 4 lung cancer 2.5 wks ago. 1/3 sz brain tumor removed. 3 brain lesions. In bones&pos liver. Would u cyperknife brain tomorrow?

It depends: If you are 76, your Dad must be late 80s or early 90s. At such an advanced age it may not be worth being so aggressive with terminal cancer that at such advanced stage means he has only few weeks to few months left. However, if his desire is to be aggressive, Cyberknife is an effective an low risk procedure and I would recommend it highly. Otherwise, hospice care is very appropriate.

Does fish contain calcium?

A small amount: Most fish is not a good source of dietary calcium. A fresh filet of certain types of fish has a small amount of calcium. Other foods (milk and spinach, for example) provide significantly more calcium per serving. Some processed fish products - such as sardines or canned salmon - may have some fish bone in them, which contains calcium.

When can I feed my baby fish?

When can I feed my baby fish?

10-12 months: If a parent wants to feed a baby fish, wait until the baby is old enough to be able to eat pureed meats, which are a bit drier/stickier than the baby-food veggies or fruits. This is usually around 10-12 months. Fish have little bones, so are more dangerous. A parent must take each flake of fish and massage it between his fingers until it is mushy (that is the best way to check for bones.
