Very Unlikely: We don't know the exact answer to your question, but i would say you are not at risk of getting hpv from an instrument used in surgery. The only exception i can think of is a vaginal retractor that was in contact with active hpv infection (warts) and then that retractor immediately coming in contact with you--contact with your hands probably would not put you at risk of getting hpv. ...Read more

Get second opinion: this story sounds incorrect. tubal ligation done properly is a very easy procedure and it is unusual that mistakes are made like this. the consequences of mistakes, like unintended pregnancy make doctors pretty careful about this stuff. get the operative report and review it with another gyn surgeon to put your mind at ease. ...Read more
