Orthopedic Leg Braces
5 y/o son has minor CP. Wears leg braces, receives PT/OT. Complaints of leg pain are getting worse and more frequent. Also seeing chiro. What else??
Strange, fleeting but increasing uncomfortable leg sensations causing leg(s) to buckle. What might be causing this? History of disc fractures, sciatic pain, mostly on one side, born breach, wore braces for first 3 years of life, had a serious back injury
My : My biggest concern, especially considering your history of disc problems and sciatica as well as previous serious back injury would be that the buckling and strange painful leg sensations are due to ongoing and perhaps progressive nerve irritation/entrapment from your lower spine. While nonspecific, numbness or tingling may also be present with nerve damage. More serious signs of problems, necessitating immediate evaluation would include loss of bowel or bladder control. You really should be evaluated by at least your primary care physician if not an orthopedic specialist. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
My younger sister is 13, turning 14 next year, is the same as me. Does she have to do leg braces? What type of treatment does she have to do?
My 2 year olds left leg is still very bowed out and she has cramps in it. She seen an orthopedic dr once at 13 months. Should i take her back again?
Hi, i think i have bowed legs and im almost 17, do i need to get braces on my legs and does bowed legs affect my height or affect my growth.
Bowed legs: Hello JunedA, I like your question. Bowed legs in adolescents is commonly due to being overweight. but can also be caused by vitamin D deficiency, trauma, or kidney disease. Because you're 17, you're almost done growing anyway but I think going to a local doctor to be evaluated for vitamin deficiencies and other causes would be a great way for you to start your healthy adulthood. Good luck :) ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
My 4-yr old son complains of pain in his leg since he was 2.His orthopedic dr. Required x-ray&it was normal. He still has pain.Whom shld we consult?
Growing pains?: Usually with a serious illness e.g. Infection, cancer, or chronic disease, you would see some other symptom in 2 years, such as fever, weight loss, rash, etc. It is good that you saw an orthopedist. Could it be growing pains? They usually come in the evening. Heat and massage are most helpful. Do you have a pediatrician? S/he might suggest a simple blood test or perhaps a referral. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
