Depends: For some women it will cause a lot of spotting by making the uterine lining very thin. For some women it can cause bloating or even breast tenderness. It really depends on the reason for taking it in the first place. Yes: Oral contraceptive pills have 2 hormones - a progesterone and an estrogen component. Sprintec is a monophasic pill ie the progesterone and estrogen components are fixed and does not vary with the last 7 pills hormone free (inert). Ortho tricyclen, the progesterone component increases weekly up to week 3, and the last 7 pills inert. I find that there is more break through bleeding with tricyclen. ...Read more

No : Differnet pills, I do not like either of those at your age you should be using the lowest dose pill which is loloestrin 10 mcg estrogen safer for anyone in their 40s and if u do not want kids I do in office tubals in my office takes 5 minutes, easy miss 1/2 day work , no incisions. ...Read more
What are some of your side effects while on lo ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) vs ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel)?
Can be the same: Lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 35 mcg estrogen, while ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 50 mcg estrogen, both have the same type of estrogen and progesterone. Anyone can have side effects with any type of bc pill, but I do not have any patients on ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) and only a few on lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) as I use much lower dose pills in almost all of my patients.
