Knee pain: There are a number of reasons as to why you may be having knee pain. The orthopedic surgeon will need to have a detailed history followed by a physical examination, which will shed light as to possible causes of your pain. If they deem it necessary they may refer you to physical therapy or consider further imaging with an mri. Hope that this was helpful. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Just started ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate) lo birth control. % of people that actually get blood clots seems too common ? Scared. What is the actual % of people who get serious side affects from this drug ?
I : I am not aware of the actual percentages of each side effect of this birth control pill (bcp). If you check the package insert, this information should be there. On the other hand, i can tell you about my personal experience. I have been in practice well over 5 years. I prescribe bcp's all the time. I have never had one patient develop a blood clot from bcp. I believe part of the reason is that i screen my patients very well. I do not give the pill to anyone who has had a history of blood clots or a family history. Also i will not give the pill to a smoker over 35, and strongly advise against it in my younger patients. Bcp's are safe and very effective if given to the right patient. They protect against ovarian and uterine cancers. If your doctor felt you were a good candidate, then your odds are very low for developing any serious complications. Take care. ...Read more

It is sort of trading the ordinary wearing of a contact lens during the day for a "keeper" at night. ...Read more
Needs more correctio: Ortho k can improve small amounts of myopia although it is a trade off of wearing a lens during the day for a "keeper" lens at night. It does not work for higher degrees of myopia nor does it stop progression. You may be in either of these categories. Check in with a regular ophthalmologist, rather than an optometrist, to evaluate this. ...Read more

Birth Control Pills: Hi!, it's likely that you are ok. Greater concern is when you miss entire days dosage. Generally being a few hours late causes no problem. That being said there is no 100% guarantee of protection. Good Luck, and if your not sure use a secondary protection as well. ...Read more
Absolutely: It is a highly effective birth control pill but only correct and consistent use of any birth control method can result in low failure rates. You need to remember to take the pill every day and as close to the same time of day as possible. Always use a secondary birth control method if you get on antibiotics for any reason. ...Read more
