Probably: If you are on your period, the pill you missed is almost certainly on the last week of pills in the package which are placebos and taking one of them late will not impact the contraceptive effectiveness at all. Do remember, however, that no contraceptive method is 100%. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Same pill: These two are generic equivalents meaning they are the same medication. Both consists of 21 active pills containing 0.1 mg levonorgestrel and 0.02 mg ethanol estradiol. Its the same thing just made by a different company. Likely your insurance covered one and not the other and the pharmacy may have been helping you out. ...Read more

Still protected!: Taking your pill 2-3 hours late will not put you at risk for pregnancy. You are still protected! Its best to take your pills around the same time every day but a few hours either way won't change the effectiveness. Best wishes! ...Read more

I take orsythia pill at 10pm. I forgot last night & took it today at 7am. (9 hrs late). This is the 3rd pill in my cycle-should I use condom?

Birth control: If you have been taking this for more than 10 days you have achieved a steady state, and although not ideal, the probability is that you are safe enough. Condom use is important to prevent STDs, but if you really want to be certain you will not get pregnant it will not hurt to use one for that purpose alone for the next day. ...Read more

First few months...: In the first few months of any hormonal birth control you can have irregular spotting at some point. However, if this is not blood, just brown discharge, and if especially is associated with pain or irritation this could be related to a vaginal or pelvic infection. I would suggest you see your gynecologist for exam and treatment if necessary. ...Read more

I'm on Orsythia. Can I make my period shorter by starting a new pack after I've taken some of the blue pills of my old one? Or finish blue pills?

I'm on Orsythia. Can I make my period shorter by starting a new pack after I've taken some of the blue pills of my old one? Or finish blue pills?

Yes!: You can shorten the last week of pills if you like. For example, you can take the first 3 weeks of pills, and then only take the first 4 pills of the fourth week. On day 5 of the fourth week, you start the first pill of a new pack. This will shorten your periods and can improve PMS, headaches, etc. You must always take all of the first 3 weeks. As long as you do this, you will be protected. ...Read more
