I never would: I find that any fragrant material added to vaporizers actually acts as air pollution and often triggers cough and nasal congestion in small infants. While you may fine the fragrance relaxing, the babies nose and airway is very different from yours. Plain water is the best material, along with liberal use of saline nasal wash to clear babies nasal passages. ...Read more
Why ever?: You may find such scents entertaining to your adult senses but they are air pollution to a young kid. Fragrances/smoke/dust/all act as airway irritants and can aggravate or trigger a cough in the young. This is something I avoid until school age when their airways are more tolerant. ...Read more
Oregano oil: There are no neurotoxins in oregano oil. It would not be good to place any oil on a nerve but there is no worry to using oregano oil unless you have an allergy. This does not come from the cooking oregano. Chronic use should be supplemented with iron because it reduces the bodies ability to absorb iron. Pregnant women should avoid use. See your doctor about any other questions. ...Read more

How can I test my allergic compatibility with oregano oil before starting intake? I have a moderate pollinosis.
Tree allergic?: Oregano can cause mouth/ throat itching or irritation in people who are allergic to tree pollen, particularly birch tree. However, only a small percentage will get theses symptoms, referred to as oral allergy syndrome. This is usually mild and confined to the mouth, but can cause other GI symptoms like nausea or abdominal pain. Oregano is not as likely a problem as apple or carrot. ...Read more

If severe - go to ER: Rash?, Vomiting? Tingling? The worst symptom would be internal swelling that prevents you from breathing and it would leave you no time if that happened. So, precautions are wise. If symptoms are mild and improving, just watch and have a plan unless you feel frightened. This is a riskier product than it sounds. Be careful. Best! ...Read more

Unlikely; however: Undiluted oregano oil is very spicy so it might cause irritation to your mucous membranes if taken undiluted, but would be more likely to burn your mouth, esophagus and stomach. So it is best to dilute it in water or coconut oil or take in capsules or tablet form. Taken properly, it is very safe. See http://draxe. Start with saline: Oregano oil and grapefruit seed extract are thought to have antimicrobial effects; however, there is little evidence that using them in a nasal rinse is any better than simple salt water nasal rinses. Their risks in causing irritation to the nasal lining or allergic reactions are also poorly known at this time. ...Read more

I drank oil of oregano (3 drops) for a cough. It burnt, and now 2 days later I've almost lost my voice completely. What should I do?
Croup: I don't think the voice lost came as an effect of oregano. Croup is very common in this part of the year and it is usually due to swollen vocal cords as a result of a virus infection. Takes about 7 days to resolve. Beyond 7 days--- still symptomatic--- increased chance of bacterial second infection. See MD ...Read more

Not sure about yeast: No test result can be evaluated out of the context in which it was ordered. What kind of symptoms prompted the study? What are your underlying medical conditions (that may predispose you to intestinal yeast)? If you are in the midst of a GI evaluation, have they ruled out inflammation, other infections, ischemic pathology, as well as motility disorders? Is the diagnosis of IBS firm or presumed? ...Read more
I have been prescribed Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for mild Orbital Cellulitis. I am also taking a very strong form of Oregano Oil. Will Oregano Oil interfere with Cipro (ciprofloxacin)?
Where shall I begin?: Probably you can take oregano with Cipro (ciprofloxacin). But there is absolutely no benefit, so why waste your money. You fail to give enough information to understand the rest of this question. Do you really have orbital cellulitis? If so this is serious. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) might not be the best antibiotic for it. Forget the junk, avoid any medicine not clearly indicated, and be sure the DR communicates every detail with yo ...Read more
